Saturday, May 26, 2012 -- Tacoma Jazz Festival
This year we will be back in the Rainier Room (upstairs, not where we played last year) at Freighthouse Square.
The site will provide music stands and festival fronts, a complete keyboard set-up, a bass amp, a guitar amp, and a drum set, minus cymbals and sticks.
Rick's band will play that evening from 8-11 at The Stonegate, 5421 S Tacoma Way; if anyone wants to sit in, he'll open up solo sections with the big band. Downstairs will be an all-ages blues jam. The Stonegate will have free admission that night plus tons of on-street parking and in the lots and neighborhood behind Stonegate.

AL's Driving Tip: Do not approach the airport from the East side of the airport where the terminal is, enter from the West side instead. Take I-5 North to Exit 206, Smokey Point. Go East on WA531 to the first stoplight, Smokey Point Blvd. Turn Left. Go about a mile. Turn Right. Go East on 188th St NE / Pecnik Road. Watch for signs and follow them. At the gate, tell the guard "we're with the band." Look for a big white tent approximately where this map shows a "B" marking the Bandstand. Park behind the tent.
